Credit card market is rather unpredictable. But some predictions about the development of credit card market for this year were made long time ago. Professionals always know what to expect, what to ignore and what to worry about. Unfortunately, some credit card predictions are a little bit troubling for credit card users. Will Americans fill in more credit card applications and will credit cards be more beneficial for them? Should we expect some new credit card features?
This year is a pretty hard year for the credit card market. As we know the main reason for this is a housing market crisis. Many home buyers can lose money in the second part of 2008 because of higher interest rate mortgages.
Since the mortgages will be more expensive, Americans will have less expendable income and will pay for goods and services with their best credit cards.
But you probably know that if you use credit cards all the time, it may bring you trouble. Many cardholders don't even know how to use credit cards wisely, that's why many credit card companies, such as Visa, American Express, MasterCard and many others have revealed the disappointing facts about the growth of credit card debt in America. Financial experts advise Americans to use their debit cards first and leave their credit cards for the rainy day.
Today many credit cards have no annual fee, but some experts say that in order to make credit card business more profitable in the nearest future credit card issuers will charge this fee again. The interest rates on credit cards will not stay low, vice versa, they will grow rather fast.
It will be more difficult to get a credit card this year; because credit card companies will be much more selective about whom they give credit cards to.
We should also expect some fees to skyrocket! Some fees, for example a fee for cash withdrawals has already grown! And it is rather understandable, credit card companies really need to minimize their risks by making the limits tighter!
It is not easy to live during the time of housing market crisis and to feel its effects. That's why you really have to use your credit cards wisely, because you will definitely need them! It will be much easier for you to live with good credit this year!
Experts advise you to shrink the number of plastics that you owe and only use the plastics that you really need. Follow simple rules: make payments on time and in full, don't abuse your credit cards and in this case you will always be in control of your financial situation!
